Enjoy a fascinating talk on the lives and music of great composers from your home – the perfect pairing for an afternoon tea! Hosted by Composer-in-Residence Abigail Richardson-Schulte, each online Talk and Tea presentation accompanies an HPO concert this season. With intriguing stories and musical examples throughout, these entertaining talks offer insights into the works you’ll hear our musicians perform in our Concert Hall Series.

In this episode, Abigail offers insights into March’s A New Year’s Celebration.

Czech composer Antonín Dvořák helped to define a national sound for his country and exported it around the world. How did Dvořák do this and who stepped in to help him along the way? This Talk and Tea includes performances from our HPO Woodwind Quintet as well as a sneak peek into rehearsal as our HPO musicians prepare to perform Dvořák’s String Quintet No. 2.
