Conducting Workshop
Join our new Music Director James Kahane for an hour and a half of conducting instruction. In this workshop, students will learn:
- Basic beat patterns
- Cuing and musical expression
- The career path for a conductor
- A discussion on musical leadership
Audition Preparation Workshop
Have one of our HPO musicians work with your students on audition preparation. This workshop will address post-secondary auditions as well as orchestral auditions.
This workshop will cover:
- Choosing repertoire
- Planning and preparation
- Preparing excerpts
- Dealing with nerves
- Best practices at the audition
If desired, all or part of this workshop could also function as a mock-audition or master-class with our HPO musician providing feedback to your students who are preparing for auditions.
