HAMILTON, ON— For over seven decades, American composer John Williams has wowed audiences worldwide with his beloved film scores. You may recognize Williams’ Academy-Award winning music from his renowned collaborations with the legendary Director Steven Spielberg like — JAWS (1975), Star Wars: A New Hope (1977), E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982) and the heart-wrenching Schindler’s List (1993) to name a few.
This October 19, your Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra will perform music from all the aforementioned movies, plus Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), Indiana Jones (1981), Hook (1991), Jurassic Park (1993), Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001), other Star Wars films and more!
At this concert, families and friends of all ages will revel in nostalgia as they recall some of the best music from these idolized films. We invite audience members to dress up as characters from a favourite film scored by John Williams.
Did we mention that we are delighted to have the Kingston Symphony and Thunder Bay Symphony Music Director, Evan Mitchell, join us as our Guest Conductor?! You won’t want to miss out on a performance where your HPO is led by one of Canada’s most innovative and imaginative conductors for pops, contemporary music, opera, and film scores live in concert.
