HAMILTON, ON – Join the HPO for an immersive and experiential evening of music and art in a converted industrial space.

Intimate & Immersive: Earthshine is a specially curated concert experience in the unique setting of The Cotton Factory, a former industrial building converted into an urban art and coworking space.

Music Director Gemma New conducts a program of classic meets contemporary with works by Mendelssohn and Shostakovich programmed alongside modern creations by Canadian composers including Jeffrey Ryan, Roydon Tse and James O’Callaghan. The evening begins with the world premiere of Heliacal Rising by HPO Composer Fellow Andrew Clark.

In this unconventional format, audiences are seated in-the-round just feet from the orchestra and conductor. Local visual artist and multimedia designer Andrew O’Connor animates the venue with new work seamlessly integrated with the music. Audience members are encouraged to change seats between pieces to experience the performance from new perspectives.
