HAMILTON, ON – Share in the joy of music this winter with the return of the HPO@Home Series throughout February and March. Featuring HPO musicians recording from their homes, this series includes musical performances and a unique look at some of the musicians’ home studios and practice spaces.

These home recordings feature HPO musicians performing repertoire they themselves have selected including solos and physically distanced duos and trios. This ongoing series offers an opportunity to virtually join musicians in their homes, providing viewers an intimate look into their practice spaces. Some performances even feature appearances by family members who are also professional musicians.

“We are thrilled to explore the possibilities of connecting our HPO musicians with our wonderfully supportive community in this personal way,” said Executive Director Kim Varian, “It is more important than ever that we tap into the restorative, unifying and uplifting power that music has, both for our musicians and for our music-loving audience at large.”

The HPO@Home series features performances from Melanie Eyers, Bassoon; Vivian Minden, Flute; Nancy Nelson, Oboe and English horn; Lance Ouellette, Associate Concertmaster; Lyssa Pelton, Violin; Suhashini Arulanandam, Violin; Elizabeth Loewen Andrews, Violin; Brandon Chui, Viola; Rob Wolanski, Principal Bass; David Pell, Trombone and trumpet players Mary Jay and Michael Fedyshyn.

All HPO musicians are receiving compensation for their participation in this series. February recording release dates are listed below; further release dates will be announced on March 2. All recordings will be available on the HPO YouTube channel and shared through the HPO social media channels.
