HAMILTON, ON – After several months of reflecting, collaborating with our artistic teams and exploring new ways to present professional orchestral music, the HPO is excited to announce plans for a re-imagined 20-21 season.

In order to present performances by our musicians while ensuring the safety of our audiences, our 20-21 Season is focused on offering new musical experiences through online broadcasts of live performances and music appreciation engagements.

These performances will feature HPO musicians and Music Director Gemma New throughout the season. If health and safety guidelines allow, mainstage and community performances will become available for live audiences, and all will be managed with social distancing and safety protocols for the care of our patrons, musicians and staff. Our outreach programming will also continue online to support music education, wellbeing and community-based initiatives.

Music Director Gemma New continues to lead the artistic vision of the HPO and she and our artistic team, including Composer-in-Residence Abigail Richardson-Schulte, are working to put the finishing touches on the season. Supporting our musicians and staff is a priority and we will continue to provide consistent work for our musicians and employ our staff team in the season ahead.

Complete season details including performance dates and repertoire will be released in early August.
