The HPO’s 18-19 Season continues with a fun, hands-on family concert experience and star studded line-up for two mainstage productions of From The Beatles, With Love.

HAMILTON, ON – HPO’s Marz Homes Family Concert Experience returns with Compose Yourself! on Saturday, February 2 from 11am at the McIntyre Performing Arts Theatre at Mohawk College. Enjoy musical-themed activities like Make Your Own Instrument, The Instrument Petting Zoo and Found Sound followed by a one-hour full orchestra concert conducted by Daniel Warren that lets the audience decide what instruments will play and what music to hear, resulting in a unique world premiere. Featuring bottle-music, hosaphones, snake-charming oboes, powerful trumpets and more, this performance keeps children laughing and learning about the orchestra.

On February 15 and 16 the HPO presents From the Beatles, with Love. Arranged by Hamilton’s own, Darcy Hepner, this incredible concert experience is a unique opportunity that combines the classic love songs of The Beatles with the stellar sounds of the HPO and vocals by Hamilton-based performers like acclaimed singer-songwriter Ian Thomas, Juno Award winning Blues artist Steve Strongman.

On February 20 at 12pm HPO’s String Quartet perform as part of the annual Golden Horseshoe Music Festival at Redeemer University College. The HPO is a long-time supporter of this non-competitive festival which gives Hamilton-based music students the opportunity to experience coaching sessions with HPO musicians and perform with ensembles in the festival.
