FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

It’s springtime in Paris as HPO brings elegant works by Ravel & Stravinsky to the mainstage. This concert also features our own Concertmaster Stephen Sitarski as soloist for Prokofiev’s iconic Violin Concerto.

HAMILTON, ON – On Tuesday, April 9, the Gallery Series returns to Grimsby Public Art Gallery.  Featuring HPO’s Brass Quintet and hosted by Composer-in-Residence Abigail Richardson-Schulte, this  talk and chamber performance starts with a presentation of the gallery’s current exhibition. Patrons are welcome to stay after the performance and meet the musicians and gallery curator.

On Friday, April 26, Composer-in-Residence Abigail Richardson-Schulte hosts another edition of Seniors’ Talk and Tea. This insightful talk and musical demonstration explores the music of Ravel & Stravinsky, featured on the following evening’s mainstage. Patrons enjoy coffee, tea, treats and special access to HPO’s rehearsal in the Great Hall.

On Saturday, April 27, Conductor Nathan Brock leads the HPO in an elegant evening of music on the mainstage. Ravel & Stravinsky transports concertgoers to halls of Paris as we explore works for dance through an impressionist lens. HPO Concertmaster Stephen Sitarski performs Prokofiev’s witty and iconic Violin Concerto while The Pulcinella Suite concludes this concert by playfully bringing the music to life with dancers from Hamilton’s Academy of Performing Arts.
