Principal Oboe Aleh Remezau will be playing a number of solos this weekend in Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, during our concert Nosky Performs Handel, Haydn & Bach. In 1884, Canadian educator, organist, and conductor J.E.P Aldous formed the first official orchestra in Hamilton as the Hamilton Philharmonic Society. In the spring of 1885, the orchestra made up of 45 musicians, performs Haydn's Symphony No.94 "Surprise," the same piece we will perform this weekend as part of our celebration of 140 years of music making in Hamilton! Come out and celebrate with us this Saturday, April 12 at 7:30PM.
This Saturday, join your HPO for Nosky Performs Handel, Haydn & Bach where we will perform the famous Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, featuring a number of solos from your HPO’s Principal players including Concertmaster Stephen Sitarski, Principal Oboe Aleh Remezau, Principal Flute Leslie Newman and Principal Trumpet Mike Fedyshyn.
