Seniors’ Talk & Tea: The Music of Spain
FirstOntario Concert Hall (formerly Hamilton Place) Stage Door (10 MacNab Street S.)

Join HPO Composer-in-Residence, Abigail Richardson-Schulte, for an informative and entertaining glimpse into the lives and music of the composers on the next day’s concert. Abigail plays piano to demonstrate musical style, form and comparison between the composers. Tickets include coffee, tea, treats, and a behind-the-scenes visit to the HPO rehearsal on stage at FirstOntario Concert Hall (formerly Hamilton Place)!

Spanish classical composers blossomed in the 20th century with their own unique style inspired by folk music of their country. Hear how more traditional Spanish composers like Granados and Albéniz paved the way for adventurous spirits like da Falla and Márquez. Then, experience your HPO’s rehearsal of Márquez Danzon No. 3, featuring Jeffrey McFadden on guitar and our very own Leslie Newman on flute.
