It’s all about Hamilton’s vibrant music scene. Your scene.
This year’s featured artist is Hanna Bech. A professor of whimsy and a diviner of hooks, whose muse is a back flipping white ball of fluff, Bech’s sound is classically influenced folk-pop with a flair for dramatic swagger. Winner of the Emerging Artist Award in Music, as part of the 2017 Hamilton Arts Awards, and playing alongside artists like Wax Mannequin, Robin Benedict and Quiet Parade, Hanna is becoming known for her quirky mixture of innovative writing, childlike wonder and grounded expression of her own personal anxiety, hope and despair. Bech uses her love of play to transform her feelings into music and fantasy-filled stories. She hopes her fierce self-acceptance will make others feel more at home in their own skin – and she invites you to laugh or cry about it with her.
