Three-time Juno Award winning Canadian musician Tom Wilson teams up with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra for a special one-night-only, multi-disciplinary literary and musical event. In conjunction with the release of his memoir, Beautiful Scars, Tom uses words and music to tell the story of his search for identity, and of a family history of carefully guarded secrets and profound acts of forgiveness.

Featuring original music by Tom along with works by history’s greatest musical minds, Tom Wilson and the HPO present a moving and at times hysterically funny night of inspirational art fit to make Hamilton proud of its musical heritage.

Special Offer: Purchase a Literary Recital ticket and a copy of Tom Wilson’s memoir Beautiful Scars together and save 20% on the book’s cover price. Purchased books will be available for pickup starting November 21 at the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra office  or at Bryan Prince Booksellers.

About the Literary Recital Series

The Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra’s Literary Recital Series brings together the power of the spoken word with your city’s professional orchestra. Uniting the literary and musical arts in a multidisciplinary performance event, authors and musicians share their works live, working with HPO musicians onstage to underscore their narrative. Previous Literary Recital authors have included Governor General’s Award-winning novelist Madeleine Thien, internationally renowned Canadian opera star Measha Brueggergosman, and three-time JUNO Award-winning musician Tom Wilson.
